Minimum Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
This position is being recruited for at the Journey Competency Level under the Career Banding Program. The hiring range for this position is $32,440 - $38,042 and the salary grade equivalent is 61.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the first point of contact for prospective students interested in our department. It is the responsibility of the Medical Student Coordinator to provide a structured educational program for the benefit of the medical students while on rotation in emergency medicine. The Medical Student Coordinator, under the direction and supervision of the Clerkship Director, is responsible for administration of the clerkship courses offered within Emergency medicine. The Medical Student Coordinator provides sole administrative support to the Clerkship Directors. This position is solely responsible for coordinating all aspects of Medical Student rotations in UNC Emergency Medicine such as grading, scheduling and compliance with all policies and procedures of the department, hospital and university. This position also utilizes, reconciles, and manipulates data from different internal and external software systems, VSAS, etc. ESSENTIAL SKILLS: Candidate must have excellent communication skills both in person and in writing. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (WORD, EXCEL and OUTLOOK) is a must. Ability to work independently or as a team is required. This position also requires a great deal of organizational abilities as well as participation in institutional, departmental, community, and/or national meetings such as ongoing professional development, to remain current with academic trends.

Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred candidate will have experience in student services, more specifically Medical Student Education. Experience with VSAS and E-value would be preferred. Candidate must be highly organized and have a high level of detail in work. Preference will be given to candidate with at least two years' experience in coordinating a Medical Student/Resident program and they must be comfortable making presentation in front of medical students.

Special Physical/Mental Requirements:
Ability to work at a computer for long periods of time. Must be able to move 15 pounds.
