The Division of Dermatology is seeking a part-time office assistant. This position works 30 hours per week. Prefer experience in a medical office setting with skills in medical terminology and proficiency/knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. This position demands organizational skills, good interpersonal skills, and excellent telephone skills. The selected candidate should be able to deal effectively with physicians, staff, and patients. Duties to be performed include answering a multi-line telephone unit, typing/transcription of correspondence and other document types familiar to academic medicine, review and distribution of mail, maintenance of records and files, coordination of physician schedules, and general office duties. Familiarity with clinical operations at the Brody School of Medicine is preferred.

The ECU Brody School of Medicine is affiliated with Vidant Medical Center (formerly Pitt County Memorial Hospital). Vidant Medical Center is the flagship hospital for Vidant Health and serves as the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
