DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
This position is responsible for providing flightline and ground support to include but not limited to towing, refueling, defueling, and launch and recovery of aircraft. Individual provides technical assistance in mechanical and inspection work as required.
Works under close supervision of an A&P Specialist II or higher to accomplish the following tasks:
Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on unmanned aerial vehicles.
Inspect at regular intervals: airframe, powerplant, propeller and engine components.
Repair as needed fuel or oil leaks and engine problems.
Remove and replace airframe components as needed including aileron servos, flap servos, brake servos, landing gear servos and throttle and waste gate servos.
Perform all launch and recovery of aircraft including necessary inspections, starting engine, operational check, installing payloads (cameras, KU, Datalink, SAR, EO/IR), and fueling and de-fueling.
Participate and perform ATP in accordance with customer guidelines.
Provide continuity at flight test facilities supporting daily flight schedule and work schedules. Incorporate any EC’s and FAB’s into all aircraft as needed.
Test, maintain and operate unmanned aerial vehicles and ground support equipment at flight test facility. Interface with customers, military and civilians.
Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Typically requires a High School diploma or equivalent. Typically incumbent has little or no knowledge of job requirements and moderate understanding of general job aspects. Must possess: (1) ability to travel six to eight (6-8) months per year; (2) ability to obtain DOD Secret security clearance; (3) general working knowledge of hand tools and precision measuring equipment; and (4) basic interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with employees and military and civilian customers. Ability to work both independently and in a team is essential as is the ability to work extended hours as required.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
FAA Airframe & Powerplant License. Military maintenance training. Experience in aircraft or automotive research and development. Reciprocating engine and flight line experience with or around general aviation aircraft.
