The Associate Manager-Competitive Knowledge & Local Market Support is responsible for obtaining and growing TDS' knowledge of our competitors, supporting TDS' local markets through managing a consistent approach to local sponsorships and participation, and providing quality and consistency in responses to commercial requests for proposals. The position will manage a budget for obtaining and analyzing competitive information and will interact frequently with sales and product management to become an authority able to compare our product and services and make recommendations on modifications or programs to address competitive pressures.
The position will be responsible for interacting with the field market staff as well as consumer and commercial marketing to develop recommendations for the Director-Market Management on activities to support. In addition, this position will track and report on returns associated with each initiative and work with the market management staff to develop the value of each opportunity.
The role will be supporting the field and sales teams by providing assistance with local market issues and managing the RFP process. Significant responsibilities include maintaining a database of past RFP responses, developing and maintaining a high standard for the content and presentation quality, analyzing the results of efforts, and working with local sales and marketing personnel to develop responses.

Maintain a database of competitors by market and catalog information on offers, advertising/collateral, and quotations.
Manage a budget to be utilized for obtaining and analyzing competitive information. Investigate and implement new technologies, services and/or vendor solutions that enhance TDS' capabilities to understand competitive offers and movements.
Have a thorough understanding of TDS' products and pricing. Be able to act as a resource and interface between market management and product management.
Be able to provide comparisons and recommendations.
Provide competitor offering/pricing and supply comparisons to TDS products and services in conjunction with Product Management.
Identify opportunities for programs (ex: Anchor Tenant) and promotions to successful combat competitive pressures; and provide dedicated sourcing. Work with commercial marketing support teams to implement.
Maintain library of RFPs.
Ensure standards for quality and content.
Work with local market management and sales personnel to provide responses which meet established deadlines.
Bachelor's degree (or higher) OR 4+ years professional work experience
2+ years marketing database OR analytics experience
Background and/or working knowledge in customer service, marketing, management and/or sales
Excellent oral and written communication skills
High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Access with an exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal skills
