AP / AR Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented AP/AR Specialist who is ready for that next step, assuming financial leadership of a small ($12MM-15MM) distribution, logistics and field service firm in Atlanta. You will possess a solid industrial accounting background, the ability to multi-task, and the experience required by a growing firm conducting business across North America. We are positioned for significant growth, so duties and responsibilities are expected to grow with the firm.

Accounts Payables:
  • Code bills/CK for receipts
  • Enter bills
  • Receive inventory via bill at correct cost
  • Run checks weekly/or as requested
  • Create/upload POS file to Itreasury
  • Respond to exceptions in Itreasury

Accounts Receivable:
  • Create parts/machine/service invoices
  • Create credit memos as needed
  • Create customer returns as needed
  • Receive customer payment apply against open invoices
  • Process credit cards in Paypal
  • Record credit card transaction in GP
  • Create bank deposit/process deposit thru Quick Deposit
  • Send monthly statement to customers
  • Maintain overdue collection notes weekly
  • Maintain collection process via communication w customer email/telephone
  • Send credit application to new customer/fax requests to venders/submit for review

  • Record into Flash Order entry/Sales entry provided
  • Ensure collection report is updated weekly
  • Do assignments requested by Leadership team
  • Assist co-workers if needed
  • Filing/making new folders as needed
  • Box-up old files to put in storage
  • Order/pickup lunch for meetings as needed
  • Send request to insurance for Certificate of Coverage/then forward to customer
  • Pickup mail - stamp/pickup/sort/open
  • Order supplies

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting
  • 3-6 years progressive accounting and financial management experience in an industrial/logistics/field service or manufacturing setting
  • Understanding of financial leadership in a small industrial enterprise which imports equipment and repair parts
  • Ability to prepare reports as required by regulatory agencies
  • Ability to prepare reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in terms of income, expenses and earnings, based on past, present and future operations
  • Provide guidance to leadership for fiscal and economic strategy objectives and policy for company
  • Provide management with timely reviews of organizational financial status and progress in various programs and activities
  • Strongly prefer a solid background with Great Plains, with an excellent report generation and writing ability
  • Local candidate strongly preferred
