Minimum Education and Experience:
The analyst band requires a foundation of knowledge and skills in area of specialization generally obtained from graduating from a four-year college or university with nine semester hours in programming and one year of experience in business application consulting or development. Experience in the field of work related to the position's role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
This position is being recruited for at the Journey level under the Career banding program. The hiring range for this position is $62,408- $72,000 and the salary grade equivalent is 76.

POSITION DESCRIPTION: This Application Analyst position will be responsible for computer programming to include review of existing technology and database systems; convert project specifications and statements of problems and procedures to detailed logic flow charts for coding into computer language; develop and write computer programs to store, clean, locate, and retrieve specific research data and information; independently design, code, test, and document custom programs and /or changes to application modules of varying complexity; create programs to fulfill data queries by investigators for analysis and ancillary grant applications; devise programs for data entry, data verification methods, and standard system procedures; analyze existing system and programming logic difficulties and revises the logic and procedures to address inconsistencies or errors in research data; evaluate and modify existing programs to take into account changes in systems requirements or equipment configuration. This position will also be responsible for project planning and systems/data analysis.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Biomedical Engineering or equivalent combination of training and experience is required. Experience with database design and web technologies is also required.

Preferred Qualifications:
MS in Computers Science or Biomedical Engineering is a plus.
6 years of experience in computer programming and data management, preferably in management of biomedical databases for large experimental/clinical studies.
Knowledge of and proficiency in various computer languages, specifically PHP, JavaScript and SQL. Proficiency with database design and World Wide Web Technologies. Experience with Open source tools is a plus. Prefer experience and expertise in creating web fronted database systems.
