The University is hiring for this position on a continuous basis. Should your application be considered, you will be contacted by the hiring official. This posting is for a male RA for the American Sign Language floor in Walters Hall. The ASL RA will need to communicate with deaf students living on the floor. The basic requirement for students to live on the floor is completion of ASL 102 but the RA will need higher level conversational skills to be successful. Resident Assistants (RA's) are responsible for the overall development of a community atmosphere on the floor(s) he/she is assigned to. They are required to create and present programs to their floor which are centered on student and community development, initiate individual relationships with residents, and encourage resident participation. RA's enforce all University and Residence Hall policies and respond to emergency situations. They are also expected to work up to four desk hours and one administrative hour per week. Once hired, RA's are required to live in their assigned residence hall on their assigned floor.
