This position serves as Assistant Budget Officer within the Ames Laboratory and provides management and operations support to the Budget Office. The position is responsible for management of a large portion of Ames Laboratory's budget and has significant responsibilities for policy development, annual process flow, staff development, Department of Energy (DOE) Contract compliance, quality control, and Environment Safety and Health directives within the Budget Office.
The successful candidate will possess excellent oral and written communication skills, computer skills, above average analytical skills; the ability to solve problems, develop new procedures, and work independently or as a member of a team.
Bachelor's degree in a business related field and three years of related experience that includes budget development and/or analysis of multi-million dollar budgets; the development and use of spreadsheets for financial management applications; and extracting financial information from automated accounting/financial management systems. An MBA or MPA may be substituted for up to two years of experience.
MBA or MPA degree.
DOE or other government entity financial management experience.
Budget development experience.
Minimum $44,800; commensurate with qualifications
