The Assistant Director for Employer Relations will develop and implement a relationship management strategy for strategic development of employer partnerships through a strong professional development approach that results in internship and job opportunities for enrolled students. Reporting to the Director of the Career Center, the incumbent will oversee all aspects of employer engagement with the Career Center to support the academic Colleges and Departments throughout the University. The position is a full-time 12-month appointment in the Career Center. In addition, the incumbent will plan and execute dynamic programs to engage alumni and employer partners to promote career and employment success for students. The Assistant Director will supervise the recruitment team and direct a team of professional staff and collaborate with other university partners from various departments within the university to ensure there is a wide variety of internship opportunities that relate to student's career and academic interests.
Responsible for development, implementation and assessment of a comprehensive global employer development plan. Develops, fosters, and maintains relationships with employers for the benefit of students' career development, internship and employment opportunities. Conducts consultations to include local, regional, national and international employers to build and maintain relations to increase employment connections as well as to further expand experiential learning and full-time job opportunities for ECU students.
The Assistant Director will provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to full-time professional staff in the employer relations area of the department.
Provide career and job search coaching to student groups including, but not limited to, career fair preparation, conducting internship and job searches, internet job searches and other topics as requested by student groups and/or faculty.
Oversees the center's employer education programs and diversity recruitment initiatives. Coordinates and conducts workshops and trainings for our employer partners supporting recruitment practices, changes in employment law, and industry trends.
Oversees assessments, data tracking and analysis relative to employer outreach and employment related activities for students and employers.
Provides administrative and customer service support during peak recruiting months.
Develops and manages the employer relations budget.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Director.
Administers the Employer Advisory Board for the Career Center.
Master's degree from an appropriately accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and three years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and five years of related experience in hiring or recruitment.
Demonstrated experience in supervision, management, and budget planning, effective organization and human relations skills.
Proficiency with a variety of technology and experience with Career Management Systems products.
Ability to work well in a diverse environment.
Familiarity with hiring tends, work settings, undergraduate and graduate life and career counseling.
The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding or experience with work both inside and outside of higher education and work with donors, alumni and other institutional affiliates.
