The successful candidate will start at the minimum of the salary range unless otherwise approved by the County Manager.

This examination will establish an Open Competitive and Promotional list to fill current and/or future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months or may be extended as needed by the Office of Human Resources.

Education and Experience:

Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Public Administration, Engineering or a field related to the work AND four (4) years of full-time administrative or supervisory experience in areas such as facilities, custodial, security, parking, or related services operations preferably in a public agency setting. Two (2) years of the required experience must include the supervision of employees.

Working Conditions: On-call twenty-four hours a day for division emergencies and incidents.

Licensing and Certification: Must possess a valid Nevada Class C Driver's License at time of appointment.

Background Investigation: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. Periodically after employment background investigations may be conducted.


The Park Maintenance Operations area is responsible for the grounds maintenance, park improvements, and minor construction of Clark County's parks. Review plans and provides recommendations on new construction, responsible for development of parks and associated equipment capital plans. Works in partnership with citizens, park neighbors, schools, sports leagues and employees to assist in the designing of new parks and to enhance existing parks maintenance in an effort to promote safety and improve quality of life for the community.

Plans, organizes, administers, reviews and evaluates the work of staff in the assigned areas of responsibility. Recommends or oversees the selection of staff; trains staff and provides for their professional development; administers discipline as required. Assists in developing and implementing goals, objectives, policies, procedures and work standards for the division; prepares and provides input for the division's budget. Contributes to the overall quality of the division's service provision by developing and coordinating work teams and by reviewing, recommending and implementing improved policies and procedures. Assists in developing comprehensive programs based upon community and/or department needs; assesses such needs through assessment techniques. Assists in coordinating the work of the division with that of other divisions within the County; ensures that programs maximize use of facilities by the public; initiates and confers with departmental staff regarding facility, housekeeping, security, parking and program development and marketing. Assists in developing grant projects and writes grants that generate revenue. Helps to organize and participates in program coalitions and partnerships with other local, state, private and public agencies. Develops, publicizes and implements special programs and activities. Prepares, negotiates, reviews and administers contracts for program execution; ensures that budgetary guidelines are followed; coordinates with facility construction, maintenance and repair activities. Responds to and resolves sensitive citizen inquiries and complaints. Assists in the direction and conduct of analytical studies; develops and reviews reports of findings, alternatives and recommendations; directs the maintenance of accurate records and files. Prepares and directs the preparation of a variety of written manuals, procedures, correspondence and periodic and special reports regarding work performed. Attends and participates in professional meetings; stays abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of the assigned areas of responsibility. Monitors and interprets changes in laws and regulations related to division activities; recommends and implements procedural modifications to ensure that activities reflect current legal requirements. Uses standard office equipment, including a computer, in the course of the work; drives a motor vehicle to conduct work site inspections.
