The duties of this position consist of assisting in the daily administration of employment, employee relations, compensation, and/or training-related activities for university faculty and graduate assistant employees. Such duties are to include, but not be limited to: assisting in the administration, interpretation and/or application of relevant collective bargaining agreements, policies, procedures and laws; directing and conducting research on related subjects, and compiling and analyzing data; developing reports and summaries; directing and conducting trainings and workshops for departmental constituents; advising academic departments and deans regarding departmental and university processes; providing general assistance to the Directors of Faculty Employment and Compensation and Faculty Employee Relations.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in human resource management or related field.
Three years of professional experience, specifically in human resources or a related field.
Demonstrated proficiency with both written and verbal communication skills, including experience with presentations and/or training.
Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem solving skills.
Strong organizational skills, as well as the demonstrated ability to work with a diverse clientele, and within a unionized environment.
Demonstrated competence in utilizing personal computers and computerized information systems.
Ability and willingness to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships throughout campus and project a positive image.
Demonstrated proficiency with standard business software applications, including Excel.
Advanced degree, or equivalent.
PHR or SPHR certification.
Experience working in a higher education environment and/or in a unionized environment.
Experience with collective bargaining.
Experience working with SAP/HR.
Experience with computer based learning and other technological methods of conducting training.
Expertise with Excel software.
Experience with budgeting.
