The process engineer will be responsible for transitioning processes and products from bench top concepts to commercial production. As part of a team based work environment the process engineer will manage and execute projects which lead to commercialization of products to support the smokeless tobacco programs, base cigarette business or harm reduction programs. In addition, the process engineer must be able to effectively collaborate across numerous functional areas and with outside vendors to solve problems and to provide insight to develop, implement and troubleshoot new processes and products. This individual must be able to perform in a highly diverse, multi-functional environment and communicate effectively to deliver against well-defined goals.
Principal duties and responsibilities:
The process engineer must possess excellent project management skills and communicate effectively with peers and management. The process engineer must be able to utilize sound scientific principles to provide innovative solutions to complex problems. Must be capable of effectively manage multiple technical projects and possess good time management skills in order to meet aggressive project timelines. The candidate will be required to function effectively on cross-functional project teams, in both leadership and team-member roles. This position will be responsible for scaling up of new and innovative processes to produce consumer acceptable offerings.
B.S or M.S. degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with 3-5 years experience preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
Excellent interpersonal, written/oral communication and presentation skills
Experience with transitioning new products and/or processes into a commercial manufacturing environment is preferred.
Occasional travel to vendors, training classes and trade shows will be required.
