The City of Fort Worth, Internal Audit Department is recruiting to hire an Audit Manager for the Office of City Auditor. The selected candidate will receive direction from the City Auditor and/or Assistant City Auditor and will exercise direct supervision over professional staff.

The Audit Manager will direct, manage and supervise staff responsible for performing city internal, administrative, construction, procedural, financial, operational, fiscal, compliance and program audits. As needed, perform audits of City of Fort Worth functions/activities, coordinate assigned activities with other departments and outside agencies, and provide highly responsible and complex administrative support to the City Auditor

The Audit Manager will assume full management responsibility for assigned services and activities. Recommend, write and administer policies and procedures relative to assigned Office of City Auditor (OCA) functions or projects; assist with the development of the OCAS annual audit plan; assist in reviewing reports, plans and documents drafted by staff members, prepare written communications, administrative regulations, OCA publications, training materials and reports to the City Council.

Skills / Requirements The following education and/or experience are the minimum standards which provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this position.
Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in auditing, business administration, economics, accounting or a related field is required. A minimum of twenty-four hours/units of accounting must have been completed prior to appointment plus four or more years of increasingly responsible audit experience, including a minimum of two years of supervisory experience. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access computer skills are required. Knowledge of MARS and Buyspeed is required. Budgetary experience is required. Preference will be given to candidates with experience with the following: City of Fort Worth Economic Development Incentive Programs; Tax Abatements; 380 Agreements, and Neighborhood Empowerment Zones. Preference will also be given to candidates who possess multiple audit-related certifications and have local government auditing experience.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Possession of an appropriate, valid Texas driver's license is required.

Possession of a valid certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) is required.
MISC. REQUIREMENTS: City of Fort Worth policy on acceptable driving record required.

Environmental and Physical Conditions:

Office environment; exposure to computer screens, some travel is required.

Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time, operating assigned equipment.
