Summary

Leads / conducts Research & Development efforts in the following areas:
Advanced econometric, operations research and statistical analyses
Actuarial pricing and reserving models
Agency Management, Loss Control, Premium Audit, etc. models
Claim process and loss development models

-Directs the strategy of projects, from conception through implementation

-Directs the training and development of Analytics staff members

-Utilizes state of the art analytical techniques, including data mining, predictive modeling, text mining and/or actuarial techniques

-Directly and indirectly manages staff for large complex projects and/or leads the project to solve complex statistical, operational or technical problems

Responsibilities:

-Leads the development of analytical models to drive superior business outcomes

-Identifies and acquires additional data sources, both internal and external that can be used to enhance analyses

-Proactively stays abreast of industry and methodological developments, changing trends and jurisdictional issues. Applies new information to existing products

-Develops and maintains effective relationships with business partners

-Identifies and implements new methods to solve and/or improve business problems and processes

Requirements:

-Relevant work experience in insurance or financial industry strongly preferred

-Must be able to manage and work on multiple projects simultaneously

-Computer Proficiency: Strong, proven skills with statistical software programs (e.g. R, SAS); applied understanding of relational databases (e.g. SQL Server, Oracle, DB2)

-Master's Degree or Ph.D. in economics, operations research, statistics, mathematics, finance, actuarial science, computer science or equivalent with typically 7+ years of relevant work experience preferred or Bachelor's degree with typically 12+ years of relevant work experience
