publishing applications Coordinate and manage consultant developers both on and off shore and oversee Managed Service delivery of application ME Develop deep knowledge of all aspects of the publishing applications including infrastructure monitoring security architecture code base and strategic direction Perform design for all application maintenance and enhancements Perform code reviews for all application maintenance and enhancements Ultimate accountability and responsibility for all changes to the applications including estimation delivery quality and schedule Support and improve production and application support organization tools and processes to meet and exceed SLAs for performance uptime and issue resolution Act as a subject matter expert across the organization for the publishing and authoring functions generally and the applications specifically Implement organization goals including Enterprise Architecture adoption TCO reduction quality improvements etc Utilize Project Delivery Life Cycle process and improve adoption in team Adopt and improve best practise source code control and build and deployment management processes Interact with Business Solutions Managers to understand and refine requirements verify designs build accurate project schedules and task breakdowns and support business needs ScopeSupervision and Interaction Manages team of developers Works collaboratively with Business Solutions Managers and others to secure adequate business involvement participation in requirements gathering design and test phases Also works with Business Solution Managers to maximize efficiency by effectively tracking evaluating and reporting on the delivery of Ratings Business andor Corporate Systems projects and services with regard to cost and timing as measured against agreed upon service levels Also works collaboratively with Project Managers Business Analysis Managers Technical Architects Quality Assurance Managers and others to ensure effective crossproject communication and issue management Minimum education and work experience required for this position include BS degree in Information Systems Computer Science Computer Engineering or equivalent experience Graduate degree in Computer Science or related field or MBA a plus 8+ years of software engineering experience including 2+ years of experience as a development manager or 8+ years of solid diverse work experience in IT including experience in systems developing methodologies with a proven track record of IT project delivery Experience in the IT financial sector is a plus The key competencies for this position include Support and development of applications running on AIX Linux and Windows servers Unix shell scripting Experience coding with C C++ C Perl Strong Experience with relational databases including sql programming and experience with Sybase and MS SQL Server XMLSGML processing including XSLT Omnimark ASPNET Web services HTML JavaScript AJAX ASPNET Ajax Control Toolkit (ACT) WinForms The following are not required but are preferred SQL Server Analysis Services and MDX Reporting Services and RDL Integration services Stored procedures Experience with PDF engines like AntennaHouse some knowledge of XSLFO Knowledge of Oracle UCM 11 Document Management System Knowledge of Filemaker Pro Knowledge of Microsoft Message Queuing Knowledge of CSLA Infragistics NET Advantage library (Winforms) multithreading programming Experience with automated build and software configuration management tools eg Ant Maven Cruise Control Build Forge Java understanding of Spring and Hibernate Some experience with DB2 Experience working in IT financial sector is a plus General Requirements Demonstrated ability to achieve professional goals in a dynamic team environment with overlapping yet distinct business objectives Individual demonstrates and promotes MIT values Full lifecycle ntier application development experience Knowledge of the system development life cycle and system and application program development Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients peers and IT management and staff Strong development languages configuration package evaluation and database concepts A proven performance record in the information systems environment Excellent management and organizational skills
