Develop an academic advising system which promotes student success and new advising initiatives. Act as a liaison to students, advisors, faculty, and administrators. Responsible for facilitating exchange of academic and technical information.
Plan, develop, and administer academic advising programs and systems that affect all entering freshman students from various academic disciplines for their first year on campus, as well as support initiatives in academic advising. Advise students individually and in groups. Speak to various constituency groups (students, advisors, parents, faculty, administrators, etc.) regarding the advising process, orientation, and other activities, systems or programs associated with the University Advising Center. Develop and coordinate various seminars, orientations, and workshops for student and advisor development.
Other functions as assigned.
Bachelor's degree. 4 years experience working with college students or adolescents in an academic counseling or advising capacity. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Master's degree. 6 years experience in academic advising and/or related field. Excellent communication skills. Strong computer skills, including but not limited to MS Office.
