Under general direction, the purpose of the classification is to perform academic advisement of college students. Classification is responsible for counseling/advising students on degree/career programs, coordinating vocational development and job placement
Master’s degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology or closely related field; with three (3) years experience and/or training involving college admissions, academic advisement, career development, or program/project management; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

Serves as academic counselor and works with students to develop academic plans of study ;Coordinates participation in grant-funded programs for vocational education, job training, and job placement ;Performs administrative tasks associated with department activities; Interacts with various agencies/individuals;
Maintains professional knowledge in applicable areas; Performs miscellaneous tasks (i.e. – answers telephones and records messages; schedules appointments for other staff members; prepares orientation packets; makes copies of documents; files documentation); Coordinates activities of assigned work study students; Performs related duties as directed.
Rate of Pay:
Not to exceed 18 hours per week
