The School of Engineering and Applied Sciences seeks an Academic Information Specialist to develop and support systems used in carrying out the academic and administrative functions of the School. Such functions include monitoring student academic progress, providing support for engineering accreditation assessment activities, development and maintenance of student records, and providing information management for various special projects related to admission, recruitment, and retention of engineering students. The incumbent will interact with faculty academic advisors, and other personnel in the implementation and use of various computer programs and systems, including the use People Soft (HUB). The incumbent also is expected to assist in the ongoing academic planning, communication, and scheduling duties in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. This position will also provide support for mass e-mail communications and web content management, and to supervise student assistants as appropriate. The incumbent will be responsible for enforcing policies related to academic review and course registration in the School of Engineering.

Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Computer Science, Information Science, Management Information Systems or a related field. Familiarity with database concepts. Software skills such as Perl, PHP, MySQL, HTML, and/or Javascript.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience designing, modifying, and/or using complex application programs for administrative systems. Experience working with People Soft Campus Solutions or UB Info Source desirable.
