Mildred Elley, a private multi campus institution, is seeking an Academic Support and Bookstore Administrator for appointment at its New York Metro campus.
This position provides individual and small group tutoring to students in the Tutorial Center. Assist students in improving academic achievement by meeting with them on a regular basis to clarify learning problems and work on study skills. This person will also assume the role as Library Front Desk Assistant where they assist students, staff, and faculty with inquiries and general administrative tasks and projects as assigned to support academics and admissions. This position also is responsible for management of the Campus Bookstore including ordering/distributing textbooks and supplies and accepting payments. Applicants should have experience working in a computer network environment using Microsoft Office software.
Requirements/Required & Preferred Credentials:
Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience working in counseling, student services, or academic support capacity preferred.
Friendly, patient, and sensitive to a diverse student population.
Comfortable tutoring mathematics at the pre-algebra level.
Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
Commensurate based on experience.
