POSITION DESCRIPTION :
1. JOB PURPOSE

Provides high level fiscal analysis, investment reporting and budgetary support for the Clemson University Foundation and the Division of Advancement

2. JOB FUNCTIONS

REPORTING
Serves as the main resource for questions and concerns regarding Foundation projects and budgets. Works with partners to confirm data validity. Creates and/or compiles Fiscal Year Fundraising Reports (FYFRS), annual reports and data integrity reports to various audiences. Completes surveys for external entities. Calculates various metrics for fundraising. Works with Manager of Investment Operations and Chief Financial Officer on investment reporting. Updates routinely Clemson University Foundation Key Performance Indicators. E/45%

PLANNING & BUDGETING
Plans, implements and oversees the divisional budget balancing within the target allocation of state and foundation appropriations. Monitors departmental budgets utilizing Peoplesoft queries and analyzes trends. Provides budget reports, guidance and advice to Advancement's vice president and directors on budgetary issues and decisions by interpreting and summarizing financial information. Advises on business management activities to ensure the most effective utilization of the division's resources. Assists with budget amendments to establish or revise budgets and transfer funds for the division and to other units. Performs special projects as assigned by the CEO, CFO, and directors to meet overall goals of the division and the University's Top 20 goals. E/25%

FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING
Approves Foundation direct purchase vouchers. Directs and monitors accounting and procurement activities. Ensures proper account classification and processes journal entries to correct any misclassifications and errors. Researches and clears all budget errors for the division. Reconciles monthly budget status reports (BSRs) for assigned projects resolving any discrepancies. E/15%

DIVISIONAL SUPPORT
Assists and responds to audit review findings and recommendations and follow-up to ensure compliance with audit findings. Establishes and implements administrative and financial policies and procedures to ensure that the division adheres and complies with University, Foundation, State and Federal policies and procedures. Communicates with the division on policy and procedural changes. Identifies and drives the LEAN process to stream-line wasteful and non-value added processes within the division and recommend process improvements from a university-wide perspective. Represents Advancement in budget/financial, personnel, and related committees. Disseminates information to division, as appropriate through email or periodic staff meetings. E/15%

QUALIFICATIONS :
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or related field and professional experience directly related, such as accounting, auditing, finance or commercial lending.

PAY & WORK SCHEDULE :
Standard Hrs: 37.5; Band: 06 ($ 38,703.00 - $ 71,608.00)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES :
Knowledge and skill in the principles, practices and terminology of accounting and budgeting management. Must have the ability to plan and organize workload while maintaining a high degree of accuracy. Ability to compile, analyze, and interpret financial data and reports. Ability to communicate effectively.
