GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Grow Sales and Gross Profits with Sysco Operating Companies and program account customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain and grow FreshPoint Southern California’s sales, gross profit and margins.
Review all accounts to insure maximum sales and profit per stop.
Provide excellent customer service and develop good working relationships with both internal and external customers.
Work with credit department to keep accounts within credit terms.
Work with transportation to maximize route profitability and elimination of off day deliveries.
Assist purchasing with the timely utilization of all inventories to maximize inventory turns and reduce inventory shrink.
Arrive promptly, be prepared and participate in all company meetings.
Attend and participate in customer and local industry functions.
Maintain open communication with all departments of the company.
Meet with all accounts and facilitate Customer Satisfaction Survey.
Submit all reports in a timely manner as requested.
Make emergency deliveries when necessary.
Maintain accuracy of all order guides and customer information.
Valid California drivers license
Maintain auto insurance acceptable to company and list as an additional insured on policy. Defensive driving course required.
Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices, Company Polices and Safety procedures.
Must have a positive attitude.
Good attendance and adherence to work schedule
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this job.
Must be able to work will all levels within the organization in a professional manner.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment while handling multiple tasks and professional relationships with ease and efficacy.
Proven ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written) in a positive manner, follow through on directions and organize effectively to satisfy the customer’s needs.
Must have a valid CA Drivers License
Must have a clean MVR/No DUI or serious driving offenses.
Possess basic knowledge of produce, dairy/grocery products and culinary industry.
Good communication skill
Good math skills
Good computer skills - Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
Ability to handle multiple tasks
Strong organizational skills and ability to handle crisis situations effectively.
Knowledge of Southern California
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Two (2) years of experience in outside sales in a fast paced environment, preferably produce or food distribution.
Two (2) years sales experience in Food Service and/or Produce Sales
High school degree
Ability to manually move up to 25 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs infrequently.
Must be able to drive a motor vehicle.
Frequent walking, reaching, bending, squatting, pushing and pulling.
Must be able to enter data into the computer system.
Must be able to hear and speak
Must be able to see near and far.
Have the ability to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive movements in wrist and arms on a frequent basis.
