Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information, prepare adjusting entries, reconciliation's, and financial reports.
Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts in the University's general ledger. Assists periodically in the preparation of the Annual Financial Report, Operating Budget, and Legislative Appropriation Request. Allocates expenditures, encumbrances, receipts, receivables, etc. based on reports and schedules. Performs statistical analyses to determine trends, estimates, and the impact of significant changes to accounting policy. Prepares narrative reports that explain findings and recommendations. Audits contracts, orders, and vouchers and prepares reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement. Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries documents and reports. Determines proper handling of financial transactions. Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and University policy and procedures. Assists with various special projects as needed. Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems.

Minimum Education required: Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Degree in Business Administration with 15 credit hours in accounting from four-year College or university. No experience required.
