This position will assist in preparation of the annual operating budget and biennial Legislative Appropriation Request. This person will assist the Budget Office in budget reconciliations, budget transfers, payroll document approvals, position funding analysis,and any other projects required throughout the year.
Work with the Director of Budgets in the preparation of the annual academic operating budgets for the university. This requires reconciliation of accounts, financial analysis of variances, working with the departments to answer budget questions and assist them with their budgets, and any other budget office work required during the annual budget process. Handle daily operations in regard to academic budgets and position funding. Work closely with the Director and Assistant Director of Budgets and Financial Planning to complete any requested analysis for position funding or preparation of spreadsheets required during the fiscal year. This position will be cross trained to approve payroll documents which route through the approval desk of the Budget Office, verify funding for positions submitted to the Hiring Review Committee, and management of vacant position funding. This person will also be trained in new budget office duties required with the conversion to PeopleSoft/Finance and Hyperion Budgeting and Planning, and Hyperion Public Sector.

Bachelor's degree with a major in accounting and 4 years work experience as a professional accountant. Excellent financial research skills. Computer experience and proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Bachelor's degree with a major in accounting and a minimum GPA of 3.0 and 4 years work experience as a professional accountant. The ability to take charge of a project and complete it with minimal supervision. Excellent accounting research skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with knowledge of PeopleSoft Finance and/or Hyperion Budgeting and Planning. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, individual initiative, and ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
