Accounting Clerk - temp Position Summary

Prepare and post account receivable charge entries and cash receipt entries onto MAS 90. On daily basis, works with billers, collectors and Assistant Controller. Assists with reporting and audits.

This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Eisner Pediatric & Family Medical Center. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the core values of EPFMC. The employee shall support EPFMC’S strategic plan and goals and direction of the performance improvement plan. The employee will also be expected to support all organizational expectations including, but not limited to; Customer Service, Patient’s Rights, Confidentiality of Information, Environment of Care and EPFMC initiatives.

Education/Training/Experience
  • Must have MS Office skills (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Minimum 2 years of accounting experience required
  • Experience with MAS 90 a plus
  • Healthcare exposure a plus
  • Bachelors Degree preferred

  • D. Performance Improvement

  • Participates in performance improvement activities.
  • Essential Job Functions

    A. Consistently applies infection control policies/practices.

  • Understands and practices standard precautions for self and others in patient care activities.
  • Understands and practices appropriate disease-specific isolation.
  • Appropriately handles and disposes of sharps (i.e., needles, etc.) as required.
  • Ensures sterility of supplies and equipment.
  • B. Attends department specific education/training, inservices, and staff meetings.

  • Attends mandatory inservices/educational/training activities.
  • Submits all required paperwork on time.
  • Verifies, by signature/initials, attendance at staff meetings or reading of staff meeting minutes.
  • C. Department specific performance improvement project.

  • Actively assists in unit performance improvement monitoring.
  • Demonstrates understanding of performance improvement principles in job performance.
  • D. Pull reports from practice management once billing has closed the month

    E. Prepare and post charge entries

    F. Code all checks and cash deposits with account and department numbers

    G. Post cash receipts to accounting system

    H. Reconcile cash receipts to excel spread sheet (Monthly Deposit)

    I. Monthly AR Aging report

    J. Ongoing Health Port to MAS 90 Reconciliation

    K. Mental Health, EIS billing collection and reconciliation

    L. UDS & OSHPD report assistance

    M. Assistance with audits and government reporting
