: POSITION: Accounting Manager

REPORTS TO: Manager of Finance

LOCATION: Ellwood City, PA 16117

SUMMARY

A leading manufacturer of tubular steel structures used in electrical utilities and telecommunications industries has an immediate opening for an Accounting Manager at its manufacturing facility in Ellwood City, PA. Reporting to the company’s Manager of Finance, the Accounting Manager is responsible for forecasting manufacturing costs, analyzing variances, formulating recommendations to management on monitoring costs, and serving as a resource for all business areas concerning financial performance and inventory and cost analysis.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES *
  • Prepare weekly and/or monthly financial analysis reports including written narratives of any trends, issues or abnormalities within the data. *
  • Assist Manager of Finance with timely, accurate and comprehensive review, development and implementation of annual budgets and ongoing forecasts. *
  • Analyze business processes and makes recommendations to management for process improvement. *
  • Perform risk measurement and analysis functions regarding business operations, inventory and costing reserves. *
  • Review and process subcontractor invoices. *
  • Collect data, including payroll reporting in ERP, to determine costs of business activity including direct labor, raw material purchases and inventory. *
  • Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepares job cost analysis reports comparing estimated costs to actual production costs for accuracy and completeness. *
  • Provide financial consultation to the management team based upon research and analysis including development of material forecasts and variance analyses. *
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Interface with production, purchasing and shipping on all financial accounting matters. *

REQUIREMENTS *
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, with CPA or MBA preferred. *
  • Three to five years of progressively responsible accounting or finance experience preferably in a manufacturing setting utilizing job cost accounting. *
  • Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Work, Access, and Outlook. Experience using ERP and/or other accounting systems are preferred. *
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communications skills, with strong attention to detail. *
  • Must be able to effectively multi-task in a fast paced team environment and work cohesively with all levels of the organization. *
  • Prior knowledge of principles and practices of accounting and finance. Demonstrated experience in budgets, general ledger, financial analysis, cost accounting, report development, written and verbal presentation experience. Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects concurrently.

COMPENSATION

Annual salary of $75,000 or higher, depending on skills and experience, plus full benefit package. Some relocation allowance may be provided as appropriate.
