This position is responsible for supporting the Accounting functions in areas such as A/R, month end, collections, and customer dispute resolution.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reconciles bank statements and report discrepancy problems
Process credit memos to customers and processes weekly check run
Respond to inquiries from customers and vendors, and researches/resolves outstanding credit issues
Process daily credit card sales
Work with dispatchers, drivers, and operations personnel to handle customer orders/complaints
Assist in developing new credit policies/procedures
Maintain credit invoice and supporting documentation files on all invoices, credit memos, and other
Monitors credit hold
Assists in monthly closing.
Order entry backup, invoice processing and daily deposits.
Perform shipment confirmation, involves keying amounts delivered to customers and charging freight
Retrieve accounting entries and documents as required by accounting manager for account analysis.
Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed.
Prepare monthly accounts and customer aging reports for Oldcastle finance department.
Respond to inquiries from customers, and research and resolve outstanding credit issues.
Maintain credit invoice and supporting documentation files.
Review A/R ledger.
Write credit correspondence.
Maintain bond and lien rights.
Prepare all lien waiver requests from customers.
REQUIREMENTS / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree or equivalent from a two year college; or equivalent in years of related experience or training, plus 2-5 years experience in construction or related industry.
Proficient in MS Office applications, especially Excel.
Skilled and accurate in data entry and data research.
Ability to negotiate for positive results.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions,
percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Prior collections and A/R experience, with knowledge of regulations and compliance requirements highly valued.
Excellent communications skills, verbally and in writing with all levels within the company and customers.
