As a member of our production team you will plan and conduct activities concerned with the support and imaging of our cluster computing systems. The Systems Engineer will maintain software updates, manage existing OS images, and create updated OS images for deployment over an established release cycle.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Including but not limited to):
Maintain software compliance of current OS images
Provide quarterly updates to deployed systems
Harden operating systems using pre-defined guidelines
All other tasks as assigned.
B.Sc. in Computer Science or similar technical field, with a minimum of 4 years' experience in desktop/server imaging or a combined equivalent years of work & experience
At least 4 years creating and maintaining Windows OS images
Microsoft group policy administration (XP/Win7/Server08 OS)
Experience with Solaris/Linux is great
High-octane individual; must have a strong desire to learn and apply new technologies
Easily adapt to new and challenging tasks
Proven ability to work both in a team and independently
Must be able to obtain a US government security clearance
Excellent verbal/written communications skill
Ability to positively influence people across all functional areas of an organization
Automated imaging deployment (Ghost, WDS, Clonezilla, ect)
Windows WAIK, imageX, Windows PE
Networking fundamentals, TCP/IP, and Windows Firewall knowledge
VMware Workstation/ Oracle Virtual box
This position requires sitting for long periods of time, extensive computer use
General office and some field work
Some travel is required
Moderate levels of stress may occur
Strategic, as pertains to product code and strategy
