Under the direction of the Lead Activity Assistant (740), Activity Director /Recreation Therapy Director, or Administrator (400), the Activity Assistant will assist in the planning, coordination and implementing therapeutic activity programs on a daily basis to meet the individual Resident’s needs and interests. Transport resident to medical appointments. Ability to safely drive 2 different vehicles.
Nature and Scope:
Assist and/or lead assigned group or one to one activity programs; assist Residents to and from activity programs; report any changes in residents’ behavior, safety hazards, or procedure difficulties to the Activity Director. Distribute monthly activity calendars; post calendars on designated display boards; assist with an evaluation of each Resident according to their backgrounds, activity interests, abilities, physical limitations and needs for meaningful activity programs. Maintain an up to date daily attendance on each resident; transfer and file all resident’s attendance forms at the end of each month into a designated location. Develop and display thematic/holiday decorations throughout the facility; assist in developing and maintaining an active volunteer program which involves screening, training and supervision of volunteers. Assist with maintaining current organizational systems or special needs lists (i.e., Catholic, birthday lists). Attend and participate at staff meetings, care plan meetings, in-service training programs and other meetings as assigned; assist in maintaining equipment and supplies in a neat safe manner. Assist with completion of initial, quarterly and annual assessments. Able to assist resident with transfers from walker/wheelchair. Transport residents to medical appointment. Drive facility van/shuttle for outings.

Minimum Qualifications: Requirements - Required and/or Preferred
Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English.
Six months experience as paid/volunteer activity assistant or related field.
Valid State of Nevada or California driver's license and ability to pass Renown Health's Department of Motor Vehicle Report criteria.
Computer / Typing:
Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
