As a key member of the Actuarial department, the Actuarial Analyst will support the company's growth and financial goals by performing data mining and analysis that impacts foundational pricing and risk assumptions. This individual will provide accurate premium rate development, perform financial analysis to improve the competitiveness of our health plans and support rate filing requirements.

Responsibilities include extracting and compiling group health experience and utilization data to support actuarial models. This individual will also assist in preparation of group health rate filings, revenue and claim forecasts, and develop data reporting capabilities for management.

Preferred locations are Onalaska, WI or Moline, IL

Qualifications

Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Economics or similar degree
  • Must be on the Actuarial exam track, having passed two or more actuarial exams or near the ASA designation
  • Two or more years of experience working in a corporate environment
  • At least an intermediate level of proficiency working with Microsoft Excel
  • At least a basic level of proficiency with Microsoft Access
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred experience:
  • Experience working in finance or the healthcare industry
  • One year of experience building actuarial queries in SQL / Access
  • Practical usage of Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)
