Department Profile Florida Hospital Altamonte, the largest satellite campus is a 341-bed acute care hospital that features a Brain Attack program, Cancer Institute, and an innovative state-of-the-art Orthopedic and Spinal Surgery program. The Florida Hospital Altamonte campus is large enough to provide a challenging professional environment, yet small enough to ensure the personal touch. Work Hours/Shifts 8:00am - 4:00pm; primarily 2-4 weekend days per month Job Summary As a Per Diem Acute Care Occupational Therapist with Florida Hospital Altamonte Springs you will make providing service your priority while caring for the whole person in a faith-based atmosphere. The Occupational Therapist provides direct and indirect services to specific age groups in the acute care, inpatient and/or outpatient rehabilitation settings and utilizes process improvement in achieving the goals of the Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine Department. The Occupational Therapist may supervise other Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants, volunteers, technical aides and interns. In addition, the Occupational Therapist actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Knowledge, Skills, Education & Experience Required
Demonstration of at least entry level professional competency of Occupational Therapy practice, theory, principles and applications.
CPR Certificate
Basic computer skills to include Outlook, Microsoft Office, and Windows (preferred)
Bachelor's degree plus five or more years of work experience in Occupational Therapy or Masters in Occupational Therapy Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required
Licensed in the State of Florida as an Occupational Therapist. Job Responsibilities

Performs evaluations and re-evaluations according to standards and recommended techniques. Establishes, implements and adapts an individualized treatment plan of care (including appropriate goal setting, treatment activities and frequency). Discharges patients when maximum benefit has been achieved and/or according to standards of practice and payor guidelines.
Documents accurately, completely, and timely with legible handwriting. Uses measurable and objective terminology following standards of practice, insurance guidelines and department/hospital policy and procedures.
Charges patient accurately, timely and legibly according to guidelines of the CPT code format, price file, and following insurance guidelines.
Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development for assigned patient age population. Evaluates for age-appropriate behavior, motor skills and physiological norms of the patient. Demonstrates the ability to interpret data relative to patient age. Modifies approach and communication skills appropriate to the patient served, which may include: Neonate/Infant (birth < 1), Pediatric (1 < 12 yrs), Adolescent (12 < 18 yrs), Adult (18 < 65 yrs) and Geriatric (65 + yrs).
Identifies the need for patient/caregiver education and utilizes each opportunity for teaching on a planned or spontaneous basis. Documents education and understanding as appropriate.
Participates in practice changes as a result of performance improvement activities. Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department.
Meets at least 90% of the productivity standard.
Willingly adjusts and adapts to changes in patient census by altering working hours to assist in other centers/programs as needed/approved and observed by manager.
Practices principles of employee and patient safety when performing daily job activities via observation.
Complies with FH Compliance Plan, rules and regulations of all local, state, and federal agencies, and with the standards of all accrediting bodies and payors as evident through documentation reviews, tracers and rounds results.
