Job Summary

This position is responsible for teaching in the Instrumentation Technology program.

Reports To (Title of individual)


Teach courses related to and listed in the curriculum and specializations of the Instrumentation Technology program. Accountability in ensuring the Instrumentation Technology program functions in a continuously improving, cost effective and learner-centered manner and excellence. Act as liaison and work closely with instrumentation related organizations, such as ISA and others, to ensure strict compliance with academics, industry and Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board standards. Develop and update competency, skills, and academic based curriculum and instructional materials. Recruit and advise students and coordinate job placement and external learning experiences. Participate in planning, budgeting, and management processes for instructional department and workforce division, including maintaining department and students records. Purchase and maintain inventory of equipment, instruments and supplies Other relevant duties may be required.

Education Requirements

The candidate must possess a college degree from a four year accredited institution in the area of instrumentation or closely related field including chemical and/or petroleum engineering (master degree or higher is preferred). Photocopy of college transcript showing degree conferred must be submitted with application for consideration. OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT IS REQUIRED AT TIME OF EMPLOYMENT.

Experience Requirements

Five years experience in industrial instrumentation of process operations and controls with energy industries preferably in a supervisory capacity. The candidate must have working and teaching experience with operation and methods for processes related instrumentation and equipment. NOTE: Part-time experience will be counted as half of full-time experience; for example, two (2) years of part-time experience will equal one (1) year of full-time experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Computer Skills Requirements

Knowledge of computers, PLCs, DCS, Field Bus and/or related technologies, and alternative energies instrumentation and technologies.

Criminal History Background Check Notification
