State Fair Community College is searching for technical education leadership candidates to grow its Renewable Energy Technology program.
As an adjunct Instructor, successful candidates will be responsible for the operation and success of established, accredited associate of applied science degree and certificate programs in solar energy technology. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Photovoltaics. Class structure will include lecture and lab components.
Working with the Program Coordinator, the Instructor will be responsible for planning and implementing education programs based on an approved curriculum, including one or more classes in Solar PV. The Instructor also participates in the ongoing development and evaluation of the curriculum; implements effective teaching methodologies and testing; develops and implements operational procedures; and student support and retention.
Duties & Responsibilities
2-5 years of experience in the solar industry, experienced with solar power generation, photovoltaics and applications, familiarity with technical training and education, programs and tehcniques. Teaching experience is NOT a requirement for this postion.
Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills, ability to develop lesson plans and implement curriculum, ability to work with diverse populations and manage classroom learning, ability to compile information and prepare reports. Associates Degree in related Electrical Technical Sciences with three (3) to five (5) years of documented teaching/training and/or related work experience that would provide competence in the field or discipline and the ability to effectively communicate training and subject matter to others is required.
