The School of Nursing and Allied Health offers a baccalaureate degree in nursing. The low faculty-to-student ratio enhances the educational processes. There are currently full-time undergraduate faculty positions for instructor, or assistant or associate professors in nursing and adjunct positions available. The full-time positions are nine-month appointments for the first year but may become 12 month appointments based on need. The adjunct positions are determined on an as needed basis each semester. The positions are Medical-Surgical Nursing, Critical Care, Care of Families with Children (Pediatrics), Care of Childbearing Families (Women’s Health and Obstetrics), Mental Health, Leadership, and Community Health.
In accordance with program objectives, policies and procedures, the Adjunct faculty is responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating classroom and clinical experiences for students in a designated content area as per University policy.
- Current unencumbered Texas license to practice professional nursing (RN) with clinical practice experience
- MSN required with doctorate degree preferred or BSN with clinical practice experience in Clinical Teaching Assistant role
- Two years experience as a Registered Nurse in the teaching area preferred
