To provide highly skilled administrative support service to relieve an administrator of a number of organizational decisions. Responsible for daily office management, correspondence, personnel matters, complex level decisions, exercising initiative and independent judgment.
Relieves administrator of a wide variety of internal administrative duties and a large volume of decisions, which require a thorough understanding of the functions, programs and policies of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). Interprets administrative decisions and policies. Prepare, review and approve departmental requisitions and service requests. Perform a highly complex Quality Assurance/Quality Control process staff workloads. Track department workload, productivity and backlog and provide monthly report to upper management. Train and mentor staff members as needed. Supervise departmental support staff. Arranges meetings, conferences and workshops, prepares the agendas and takes minutes for the meeting. Serves as administrative liaison with other departments on TCEQ campus and outside organizations and agencies concerning administrative policies, procedures and practices. Reviews and verifies for accuracy the monthly departmental payroll prior to submitting for processing.

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with two years upper level secretarial experience or high school with six years of increasingly responsible administrative, secretarial and clerical experience with two years of supervisory experience. Use of personal computer and standard office equipment. Proficiency in all phases of work performed.
