Purpose of Position
To direct the operations of the financial reporting for the $2.6 billion annual Medicaid Programs, including the Affordable Care Act (ACA), within the Administrative Services Division (ASD). The Deputy Bureau Chief is responsible for ensuring the internal and external reviews are conducted in compliance with federal, state and departmental rules, regulations, policies and procedures. This position conducts the financial, compliance, operation, internal control and audits of all systems, processes, programs, operations, functions and financial activities for the Medicaid Programs. The Deputy Bureau Chief is accountable for the development of the analysis of work performed and communication of financial reporting results to the Bureau Chief, ASD Deputy Director, HSD Division Management and Deputy Cabinet Secretaries. The Deputy Bureau Chief must ensure financial reports are concise, logical, report conclusions and recommendations and are supported by sufficient and appropriate evidence. The federal oversight agency for Medicaid reviews each quarterly financial report for accuracy; errors can result in loss of federal funds. In addition, the state requirements include timely and accurate detail reconciliation of expenditures and revenues.

Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s Degree in any field of study from an accredited college or university and six (6) years of professional level experience with a tactical impact directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling ten (10) years may substitute for the required education and experience. A hiring agency will designate a portion of the required experience to include supervisory and/or specialized experience. Any required licensure, certification or registration shall be defined at the time of recruitment and will be in addition to the above requirements. Employment Requirements:
