We have a vacancy for an Advisor Services Associate in our New York office.

The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for sales support in the development of new business, building and maintaining sales and service relationships with Financial Advisors, responding to requests and solving account issues and inquiries from financial institutions doing offshore mutual fund business.

Job Duties:
  • Support and assist the Business Development - Offshore Team and educate our financial advisor clients on opportunities within their respective firms of Aberdeen’s offshore fund options
  • Provide sales and service to financial advisor clients of Aberdeen’s offshore mutual funds under the Business Development – Offshore Team. Most sales and service communication will be in English and Spanish, over the phone and via emails and other written documents
  • Build and maintain database and a top producer list of Aberdeen offshore fund producers. Maintain contact levels with top producers using our products. Contact would include travel into territory to handle FA visits, FA/client seminars, and other events designed to support top producers working with Aberdeen
  • Execute call, E-wholesaling, and marketing campaigns as directed by the Business Development Offshore Team. Participate in the idea generation, building, and implementing of campaigns
  • Respond to daily telephone inquiries on performance and position of funds and managed accounts
  • Supports Regional Sales Managers in developing new business and supports existing relationships

  • Provides account activity and sales reports to assist the sales team
The desired candidate will have a minimum 4 year college degree, preferably in Business Administration or a related field; minimum 2-4 year industry experience involving financial service sales; strong investment knowledge, industry knowledge, and product understanding of US and offshore mutual funds; strong communication and presentation skills both verbally and written; ability to interact confidently and effectively with retail financial advisors via both phone and in person interaction; series 7 license required; time management skills; bi-lingual Spanish/English speaking candidate mandatory, must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in both languages
