The Cooperative Agricultural Spport Services Authority is currently hiring for several Agricultural Aide positions.

Rate of pay: $12/hour

Time base: Full-Time seasonal

Start date: Monday, February 4

Location of work: Napa County area

Training: Provided

Job description (including but not limited to): Work within State of California guidelines. Work will be outdoors and around pesticides, removing fruit (grapes), inspect insect traps and handle samples.

Overview: This job will provide an eye-opening experience to the State’s pest eradication program. You will play a crucial role in protecting California grapes (that means wine too!). Potentially allow for a foot-in-the-door for those who want to advance a career in biology, agriculture and/or environmental science.

1) Valid California driver’s license

2) Good driving record (please provide a recent DMV printout)

4) Speak and write in fluent English

5) Work outdoors and on uneven terrain

6) Work with pesticides

Preferred experience (not required):

1) Field work

2) Customer service

3) Map reading

4) Biological/Agricultural/Environmental background

The incumbent in this position must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships; work well under pressure; and, work cooperatively with other staff members in completing assigned work and meeting required deadlines. The incumbent in this position will be required, with or without reasonable accommodation, to lift up to 20 pounds on a frequent basis; use repetitive arm and wrist motions; bend, stoop, twist, reach, and, maintain visual acuity.

For all temporary or seasonal job classifications, offers of employment are contingent upon an acceptable driving record as documented on a California Department of Motor Vehicle Driving Record. The incumbent must maintain an acceptable driving record and a valid drivers' license at all times .
