position is responsible for
farm equipment operation and specialized agricultural work related to the
research nature of the cropping activities at the Station. The Spooner Research Station has 388
acres used for Research and Demonstration in Northwest Wisconsin. It has 220 tillable acres, 90 irrigated
acres, and a complete line of farm machinery with a large quantity of
research equipment. This position is
also responsible for maintenance and repair of farm equipment, facilities,
and grounds. The Station has a small
staff delegated to do a wide variety of jobs, including assisting with the
sheep care duties. Most of the time
work is done without direct supervision, demanding knowledge, listening
abilities, initiative, care, and good judgment by the employees. Employees
are also expected to relate well with the public.
