HUM BOLDT HI GH SCHOOL IS CURRENTLY SEEKING A PART-TIME AGRICULTURE TEACHER.
A valid Agriculture or Agricultural Education license issued by the Minnesota Department of Education.
Disciplinary Literacy and AVID training.
Interest or Experience in college and career preparation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong interest in collaborating with other teachers in curriculum development and lesson implementation around the theme of environmental studies.
Strong interest in designing and implementing field experiences for students and work with community members to advance student learning and engage in community problem-solving.
Ability to work effectively with teachers, parents, and students from diverse backgrounds.
Possess excellent organizational and leadership skills.
Willingness and flexibility to provide instructions across grade levels.
The essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following fundamental duties:
Collaborate with teachers in other discipline areas to develop curriculum for school-wide or grade-based interdisciplinary projects.
Support the state of Minnesota graduation standards in lesson plans and projects.
Develop and maintain a multicultural, gender and disability - fair curriculum that supports the curriculum of the school.
Work effectively with students, staff community members and parents from various ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.
Design and implement field experiences for students and work with community members to advance student learning and engage in community problem-solving.
Work with other team members to correlate standards to capstone events or projects.
Work with departments to develop and incorporate inquiry-based strategies into content specific curriculum.
Incorporate current events related to environmental studies into lessons.
Use textbooks to supplement the curriculum, which will be written around the environmental focus.
Attend and participate in a variety of field experiences.
Develop the agricultural education program at Humboldt, focusing on the food science, plant science, animal science, engineer and mechanics and environmental and natural resources.
Develop an FFA chapter and serve as advisor. Prepare students for competitive activities and accompany them to local, regional and state level as needed.
Assist with grant writing in securing additional funding opportunities as needed.
Contribute to the districts inclusive workplace efforts by fostering a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.

This is a 10 month position working 16 hours per week.
