MWV is seeking ambitious, energetic individuals to join the Corporate Strategy group in Richmond, Virginia. The group oversees MWV's strategy development and management process by integrating and aligning all strategy functions, and assisting the company's senior leadership in developing next-generation profitable growth strategies. The successful candidate will play a critical role within cross-functional teams addressing the highest-value-at-stake Corporate and Business Unit issues. Specific responsibilities could include working with senior executives to understand industry structure and competitive trends and to define MWV’s strategy; screening and evaluating potential alliance partners and acquisition candidates; assessing new technologies and their potential within the MWV portfolio; analyzing the value and risks associated with major capital projects; and, supporting MWV’s shareholder value-based strategic planning process. REQUIREMENTS · Strong thought leadership o Analyze and understand complex strategic business issues o Develop innovative insights from rigorous fact-based analysis o Formulate commercially-relevant recommendations · Ability to communicate with senior management in a clear, logical manner · Robust quantitative and modeling skills · Comfortable within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment · Possessing outstanding personal characteristics – a high level of integrity, confidence, strong initiative taking, the ability to get agreement/buy-in, and a team-oriented work ethic · Ability to apply valuation techniques, benchmarks and value drivers.
Candidates should possess an undergraduate degree from a top-tier program. MBA preferred. 2-4 years of work experience is required, ideally with a management consulting firm, investment bank, or in a strategy role within a corporation.
This position will be offered internally at grades 15-16 depending on experience.
