Ensures legal compliance and provides import/export administration and control within government rules and regulations, including appropriate licensing for shipments.
Reviews contracts for required clauses. Interfaces with internal and external customers, order administration, outsourced 3PL, customs officers and other functional areas to ensure coordination and logistics of shipment. Ensure delivery is conducted in time as required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Researches, analyzes, and interprets U.S. and foreign regulations and monitors regulatory changes for impact.
Proactively identifies areas of trade compliance risk.
Responsible for the export compliance of equipment/software in/out of the country in compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
Monitors and completes export declarations in a timely manner.
Reviews all import documents and classifications to assure compliance, proper valuation for Customs duty and Country of Origin determination.
Interfaces for U.S. Export licenses, compliance matters and classifications for lasers, spares, tools, LTPS, EUV, foreign nationals, technology and software with Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS). Renew as necessary.
Liaises with internal departments across functions on import/export compliance issues.
Documents and revises import/export procedures as required.
Conducts import/export self-audits.
Collaborates with Freight Forwarders and Customs Brokers to prepare import/export documents, CIQ certificate, classify HS Code, feedback on any customs inquiry or audit.
Responsible for foreign exchange verification sheet application and foreign exchange reconsolidation issues.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to translate, statistically analyze data, and effectively report problems through written and/or graphical formats.
Excellent customer service skills, with an advanced understanding of customer relationship building.
Ability to use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and electronic e-mail systems.
Extensive knowledge of Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and U.S. Customs regulations (CFRs).
Familiar with FTZ/EPZ operation and regulations. Also has knowleadge of bonded transfer between bonded zone.
Experience with stock management.
Experience with import/export operation, good knowleadge of HS Code classification, foreign exchange management regulations and CIQ prccess/regulations
Understands trade compliance risk management.
Fluency in written and spoken English.
Familiar with the logistics and warehouse management in FMCG or retail will be an advantage.
Strong competence with the various tools, procedures, programming languages used to accomplish the job. Minimum of six (6) years of experience is required.
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
