This position provides leadership to the Pricing team and serves as a subject matter expert and Pricing representative to GICS, as well as Investment Management, clients, auditors and vendors. Possesses a deep understanding of Pricing concepts, processes, systems, vendor relationships, and the risk and impact (both internally and externally) of the Pricing function within the firm. In an increasingly complex, global market, incumbent must understand risk, impact and criticality of unique securities, instruments and processes (e.g. bank loans, derivatives, swaptions, fair value pricing) and lead improvements/projects to ensure accuracy of Pricing. Accountable for detailed review of group’s daily work and for increasing the knowledge base of Pricing staff. Must establish relationships with key stakeholders and possess maturity in responding to inquiries from the firm’s valuation committee, Portfolio Managers, auditors, and clients regarding Pricing related issues.
Provides technical leadership to the Pricing team regarding workflow, process improvement and unique pricing requirements (private placements, bank loans, fair value pricing, emerging markets, etc.), by utilizing subject matter expertise in a complex and high risk area. Focused primarily on increasing the team’s knowledge base of unique securities, processes, products and instruments rather than routine pricing functions. Accountable for increased, detailed review of daily work and complex pricing and increasing the knowledge base of Pricing staff.
Charged with leading Pricing initiatives and/or participating in cross functional projects which impact Pricing. As the group expert, provides leadership, direction and understands impact of new securities, systems, etc. For example, fair value pricing, testing and implementing system enhancements. Incumbent is responsible for determining impact, providing written assessments, recommending solutions, obtaining buy-in, prioritizing and seeing through implementation of currency rate time changes. Includes working with IT, Investment Operations counterparts, and vendors, and communicating to affected parties.
With guidance from the Senior Manager, and in collaboration with Supervisor, works with the team toward a clear vision in order to achieve departmental business goals. Motivates and mentors staff to grow with changes in the firm and industry environment. Provides input around individual’s performance standards; delegates responsibilities to ensure deadlines are achieved; provides input into the year-end rating and merit increase process; works with leadership team to ensure goals around job satisfaction, associate retention, career development and succession planning are being met.
Must build and foster relationships with key stakeholders (TRP valuation committee, Portfolio Managers, auditors, relationship managers, clients) and possess maturity in responding to inquiries and increased scrutiny around Pricing practices.
Vendor relationships and Fund Station: Manages the supplier and customer relationships for Pricing group while ensuring compliance with related party service contracts; ensures established service levels are being met and communicates anticipated changes potentially affecting. Serves as primary vendors contact (Reuters, S & P, ITG, FT IDC, State Street Bank), charged with troubleshooting pricing feeds, service level issues, initiating work arounds and timely communication to affected parties. Often required to make decisions on the spot due to criticality of daily pricing deadlines

High school diploma/equivalent and 6 years related work experience.
