Analyst, Investment Reporting Services

New York, NY

The Investment Data Services area in Asset Management is looking for an Analyst to help facilitate the resolution of ad hoc investment data queries, monitor updates to a central data repository and leverage Microsoft Office tools to develop streamlined solutions to analyze large data-sets and develop standard reports. This is a junior-level position and will provide the candidate with the opportunity to learn about the myriad of products and investment vehicles at TIAA-CREF as well as contribute to developing tactical solutions to streamline various processes and reports that will be performed by the group.

Responsibilities will include the following: (1) learn and develop the ability to answer ad hoc investment related inquiries from various internal parties, understand the uses and sources of data in it’s current form and being able to respond to the request. The candidate will field simple requests to start with and move on to more complex requests as time goes on; (2) monitor updates to a central data repository, a tactical solution used to source critical investment-related reports, until the long-term IT solution has been completed; (3) once the long-term IT solution has been completed, ensure the integrity of the application by monitoring various integrity checks; (4) develop solutions utilizing Microsoft Office tools (Excel and Access) to automate queries, create reports and streamline processes; (5) monitor the queue of recurring requests and ensure completion; and (6) assume responsibility for various standardized reporting.

Qualifications
3 years of experience working in the Financial Services required

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance or Computer Science required

The candidate should be a self-starter and be able to liaison with a broad group of stakeholders.

Experience/proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Access queries and reporting is required.

3 years of client reporting experience will be a plus

Familiarity with mutual funds, derivatives, equities, and fixed income as well as various security types will be a plus
