Position Title: Analyst, Market Intelligence - Americas
Reports to: Director, Strategic Planning
Location: Columbus, OH
We are looking for an experienced Analyst (4-6 yrs) to assume a key role in market intelligence within the strategic planning organization. The successful candidate must be a strategic thinker with the ability to understand market strategy, provide consultative business analysis, and leverage technical aptitude to create insightful and effective market driven solutions. Reporting to our Director of Strategic Planning this role will be focused on our 4 brands within the Americas region. It will partner closely with peers in both EMEA and Asia Pac covering our 4 brands globally.
Develop a deep understanding of the marketplace in the US, Canada, and other key countries in South America. This will involve collecting and analyzing key macro, competitor, and customer information using both primary and secondary sources
Synthesize the collected information into clear "so what's," potential action items and communicate this synthesis to key leadership across the company.
Use analytical insights to help increase teams effectiveness against key strategic goals.
Review and quantify KPIs for the organization and provide an environment where key trends are recognized and acted-upon proactively.
Communicate findings clearly and concisely to cross-functional group of key leadership (finance, merchandising, planning and real estate development teams).
Quickly build an in depth understanding of all retail apparel market drivers, their seasonality and global business trends and continually monitor the impact of important industry developments.
Work closely with finance team to conduct business and financial analysis, including forecasting and monitoring of key business activity.
Conduct extensive "on the ground" research gathering intelligence from customers, etc.
BA/BS in business/analytical related major (MBA a plus)
4-6 years of experience in an analytically challenging retail/consumer-oriented environment, ideally in management consulting, investment banking, or market research
International retail/consumer-oriented exposure strongly preferred
High degree of analytical and intellectual curiosity with a creative approach to problem solving and process improvement in a team-oriented and optimistic environment
Excellent synthesis/perception abilities - must be able to cut through high volumes of data/information and pull out the salient points
Ability to work collaboratively and openly with cross-functional business partners in a non-hierarchical business environment
Excellent communication skills and project management capabilities
Self starter, able to build sustainable processes, and drive projects to conclusion
Solid grasp of global cultural differences and experience traveling and/or working abroad
Flexibility to travel on short notice, both domestically and internationally (15-25%)
