McGraw-Hill Education has an opportunity for a junior level Risk Management & Insurance Analyst. This position will be located in New York City.
The Risk Management Analyst will provide broad support to the Risk Management team. Responsibilities will include support in insurance program development and maintenence, claims assessment and settlement analysis, contract review, and annual budgeting/ forecasting. The Analyst will gather, analyze and present data and information to support risk mitigation strategies across the business.
This individual will be cross-trained to support the cash forecasting, loan administration and compliance and cash operations teams.
Provide support for insurance program development and annual renewal, including exposure gathering, negotiations, and policy placement
Prepare comprehensive analysis for claims process, including assessing, evaluating, and reporting settlements
Complete analysis of loss information to proactively identify risk trends and mitigate future losses
Assist in development of worldwide risk management budget, allocation of costs to business units, and reserving process within organization
Provide input and analysis for due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and/or divestitures
Work on special projects as assigned
Build strong internal and external relationships including Treasury, Legal, Finance, Human Resources, Operations, Internal Audit, global subsidiaries, insurance brokers, consultants, and insurers
Adhere to Risk Management operational policies and procedures, as well as to external regulations, and provide periodic input to promote continuous process improvement for related work streams.
Manage large volumes of information and complex data files / databases; maintain ongoing accuracy of claims data and information; and prepare, analyze and present various types of reports, analyses, etc. to help protect the company’s assets and mitigate losses.
Cash Forecasting and Treasury Operations
Cross-training and back-up support to various other treasury functions.
1-5 years of business or financial experience, preferably in a corporate risk management or insurance company environment
Familiarity with international business and/or education industry preferred.
BS/BA in Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, Business or related field.
Strong analytical capabilities and the ability to work effectively across other functional groups
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills required
