As an integral part of the Global Compensation team, the Compensation Analyst position provides consulting and analytical skill in support of global compensation activities related to job evaluation, salary analysis and administration, incentive plan design and administration, and project execution for assigned disciplines. Position will coordinate and manage small to moderate project tasks and will participate and support the completion of milestone tasks for more complex projects. Position will support Marriott’s compensation philosophy and programs to ensure internal equity, external competitiveness, and compliance with applicable regulations and policies.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience
·


Associate’s Degree; 6 years of experience in Human Resources or a related professional field or equivalent experience.

OR
·
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Human Resources or a related professional area, from an accredited university; 2 – 4 years of solid, progressive compensation analysis, design and administration experience including compliance with relevant state and federal laws.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
·
Demonstrated experience interacting effectively as a team member or consultant with all levels of associates.
·
Ability to perform independently under limited supervision.
·
Experience in planning, leading, and coordinating small projects.
·
Strong MS Office skills including Word and Excel are required; Access proficiency a plus. PeopleSoft experience is preferred.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Managing Work, Projects, and Policies
·


Works with limited direction with designated clients and/or disciplines to provide on-going subject matter consultation expertise regarding management and non-management compensation issues in an accurate and timely manner. This includes job evaluation support, salary analysis, survey participation, compensation project support and aiding business partners in making informed compensation decisions that are in compliance with compensation policies and procedures and applicable Federal and State laws. Identifies issues which may evolve to be broader projects. Prepares recommendations/options and presents them to manager for support and direction.

Participates in all efforts related to the design of incentives plans for the assigned sales, revenue management and headquarters disciplines. This includes discussions with business partners to ensure alignment of plan elements with discipline/business strategies, development of plan alternatives, plan creation, plan posting and related occupation code maintenance. Responsibilities include interfacing with Aon Hewitt for plan document creation and system requirements development.

Participates in the quarterly bonus process for the Sales and Revenue Management organizations and the annual bonus process for other disciplines supported to ensure bonuses are processed timely and accurately.
      This includes all aspects of: o
      User Acceptance Testing for the Compensation Planning Tool and Sales, Revenue Management and Event Management Bonus Tool; o
      Cycle set-up; o
      Communications activities; o
      Production set-up and testing; o
      User questions and problem solving; and o
      Bonus adjustments and exceptions.

      Performs project management activities for assigned compensation projects including project plan management. With manager determines the project scope, develops the work plan and identifies resources needed.

      Identifies and surfaces issues and provides consultation as to resolution during all areas of work. Escalates complex issues and broader projects to manager’s attention for further analysis.

      Generates and provides accurate and timely results in the form of data analyses, reports, presentations, etc.

      Works with team to put sustainable work processes and systems in place that support the execution of the strategy.
      ·
      Represents team in resolving situations.
