Public Relations Assistant

Reports to

Public Relations Director


The Public Relations Assistant supports Anthropologie's public relations efforts for retail stores, website and catalog. The PR Assistant contributes to the development of the PR program, execution of PR initiatives, product placement activities, and overall office management.

Support all product placement activities

Document sample traffic and maintain sample closet

Reconcile loan records for merchandise from the DC and store and return the samples

Work with buying departments to reconcile sample loan records and return samples to home office

Develop media relation skills and contacts at local, regional and national levels

Gain familiarity with written public relations materials for traditional and new-media outlets

Support all PR activities including special events related to product launches, new-store openings and charitable causes

Perform media monitoring of traditional and new-media outlets

Create press clippings and assist in compiling reports on results

Communicate information regarding featured product to home office call center and stores

Gain familiarity with communication tools and techniques, including new media platforms, internal platforms and measurement tools

Assist in creating and maintaining media lists, as well as contact database

Assist in preparation of reports, documents and presentations

Support tracking of departmental budget and submit monthly invoices to accounting department

Support basic office management

Required Skills


Minimum one-year experience in public relations for fashion, home and/or retail industries

Computer proficient in Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat and Power Point

Familiarity with contact management software

Strong writing and organizational skills


Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion, Business, or a related field.
