The Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work at Central Michigan University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in anthropology, with a focus on Great Lakes or Midwestern archaeology and Cultural Resource Management, to begin August 2013. The department maintains a four-field Anthropology Program with a strong undergraduate major. The candidate will be expected to contribute to the undergraduate anthropology program and a developing interdisciplinary graduate program in Cultural Resource Management, combining Anthropology, History, and Museum Studies. Courses may include such subjects as archaeological method and theory, field and laboratory techniques, Cultural Resource Management/NAGPRA, regional archaeology courses, and the candidate's area of specialization. Additionally, the successful candidate will develop a summer archaeological field school in the Great Lakes region.

Required Qualifications

Candidates for this position must have a PhD in Anthropology; ABD's with a completion date of no later than August, 2013 will be considered.
