The Application Business Analyst (ABA) is responsible for ensuring that our technical solutions meet user needs with quality. They will work closely with the product owner(s) as the liaisons to the business community in order to understand the direction of the company and how IT can help the business partners achieve their objectives. The ABA will advise on new solutions and functionality enhancements. They must understand the impact a system change may have on a business process, and conversely, the impact that a business process change might have on the system. They will document requirements and develop ATDD (Acceptance Test Driven Development) scripts to be used by developers. They will also work with the developers and quality analyst to ensure the requirements and ATDD scripts are fully understood prior to the design phase, and they will assist in unit and integration testing. The ABA will provide functional support for currently deployed Oracle/legacy applications, and must also be familiar with other modules/functionality available but not currently in use. They will also assist the product owners during product demonstrations, creating release notes, and creating or updating training material.

General Responsibilities:

Accurate communication of business user needs and solicit and document requirements, ATDD scripts, identify requirements upfront to avoid scope creep
Ensure quality of application changes and solutions (unit/integration test)
Provide functional support for relevant applications and is the subject matter expert on business processes
Update requirements/ATDD scripts and work with developers to ensure a full understanding of requirements during domain walks
Perform unit test cases, integration test cases, and update relevant tickets with results
Work with Product Owners and Business Users to identify and/or understand current needs/objectives and future goals
Production Support to resolve Tier 2 Incidents, Service Requests and Problem Tickets, perform root cause analysis, provide workarounds and business support, implementation support (pre- and post-setups, change verifications, etc)
Work with Product Owners to conduct demos, document system changes in release notes and assist with training material
Remain current on new or emerging modules that could benefit our business systems
Serve as backup for application business analysts on other teams
Other duties as assigned

Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent analytical and organizational skills
Strong understanding of business requirements and needs
Thorough knowledge of business processes and solutions being supported
Ability to work effectively with cross functional departments and in a team setting
Four year degree or equivalent
Minimum 3-5 years of experience working with business
