The Vermont Teddy Bear Company is in search of a Junior Application Developer to develop and maintain enterprise and web application code and features of the Company’s enterprise and website applications.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
I. Develop, and deploy applications based on structured development principles and following VTB standards
II. Support the dynamic content and applications on internally developed enterprise software and Company websites.
III. Support and enhance existing code and objects
IV. Perform content and application feature updates across all VTBC programming properties
VI. Learn, develop and maintain web-based integration of third-party content and applications
VII. Ensure effective and efficient integration with enterprise and supporting systems
VIII. Assist with website and application maintenance as needed.
IX. Provide 24 x 7 on-call support
X. Learn and develop a strong understanding of all deployed code to support the tools/applications used for operations and to control foundational data and create efficient processes
XI. Develop a working knowledge of VTBC systems and software.
XII. Adhere to department and Company application design and coding standards as well as style guides, following corporate copy and layout standards.
XIII. Demonstrate VTBC’s customer service philosophy and effective communication skills while supporting client needs
XIV. Responsible for adherence to VTBC’s departmental and corporate policies and procedures
XV. Assist with the development, maintenance, dissemination and adherence to departmental Action Plans on a year-round basis
XVI. Responsible for S.O.S participation as required during Peak Periods
XVII. Will follow all ergonomic standards and safety requirements directed by VTBC and the department.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Four year college degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent work experience is required. At least 1 year experience in a Web-related or enterprise application programming position is required. Experience in a business-to-consumer e-commerce environment is highly desired.
